John Botts is Chairman of Botts & Company and non-executive director of United Business Media plc, Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC and Glyndebourne Arts Trust. He is a Trustee of the Tate Gallery Foundation and the Carnegie Institution, a Governor of the University of the Arts, London, and a Member of the US Council on Foreign Relations.
Prior to founding Botts & Company, John Botts was chief executive officer and subsequently chairman of Citicorp’s investment banking activities in Europe, Middle East and Africa, including CVC. Before moving to London in 1973 he had previously worked for Citibank in New York, Johannesburg, Montreal, Brussels and Casablanca. In 2003 he was awarded an Honorary CBE in recognition of his contribution to the arts in the UK. He has a BA from Williams College, Massachusetts.
